This practice offers a 24 hour service with after hours duty rostered between all the Taupo doctors. For details of the duty doctor please phone the surgery on (07) 378 4080.

Emergencies at home will be attended by the duty doctor as quickly as possible, and where possible in your home. Some emergencies are better treated by bringing the patient to the practice, either by car or ambulance. The doctor will advise you depending on the situation.

Please phone 111 for emergency services, or for non urgent calls phone 378 2777..

If you have a preference for a female doctor, Dr Fran Meuli and Dr Meg Gustafson are available within the practice. We also have a practice nurse trained to take cervical smears.

We provide pregnancy testing and initial consultation which include a referral to a midwife. We also perform 6 week postnatal checks for the baby and if necessary the mother. Please feel free to discuss your options with your doctor.

As a result of funding made available by the PHO, consultancy fees have been reduced. The reduced fees only apply to patients registered to each particular practice and will only apply to standard consultations within the hours of 8:00am and 5:30pm weekdays. Any non-standard or after hours consultations will incur additional fees.

Taupo Medical Centre Ltd is a cash practice and payment for services rendered is expected on the day of consultation. We accept cash, cheques, EFTPOS, Visa and Mastercard.

Accounts in debt are significant practice expense and therefore any fee not paid on departure will incur an automatic $5.00 surcharge for administration purposes. So as not to disadvantage patients, this fee will be waived if the account is settled within 7 days.

We remind patients that we are unable to extend credit and have instituted this system to avoid any further rise in patient fees due to high administration costs.

If you have a fees related problem please feel free to discuss it with your doctor or one of our staff.
